Goats of Choss

Just as I was getting excited about painting the mini-canvi I started a mountaineering course that has managed to completely consume both waking and non-waking hours (the dreams about building snow caves and packing gear are starting to get old).

My climbing team decided on the name 'Goats of Choss' ('choss' is a word for crappy rock that falls apart when you're trying to climb) , which we all think sounds awesomely metal. A metal-themed T-shirt design ensued.

Mini-canvi

I recently purchased a bunch of teensy little mini-canvases from Utrecht as an impulse buy (they were right by the door!). And yesterday I finally picked up the paintbrush for the first time in over four years. Results below (penny for scale).

The essence of a gentleperson

I wanted to create a character that captured the character of the Century Ballroom without alluding to a specific dance style. These are three scratchboard sketches where I played with different types of styling. I really wish I'd made the cane point in towards the feet. /sigh/

Scratchboardings

The original sketch was inspired by a photo of Josephine Baker. One dancer led to another.

A Wind in the Door

It might be time to add color to this ...
